Cookies and privacy

This site does not track you. There is no analytics package, no advertising network and no third-party script of any kind on any page.

What we do not do

• No analytics or measurement service.
• No advertising, and no advertising or profiling cookies.
• No third-party scripts, fonts, or content delivery networks. Everything the page needs is served from this domain.
• No social media embeds or share widgets that report back. Sharing links are plain hyperlinks.
• No account, no login, and no newsletter sign-up, so no mailing list.

The one cookie

If you answer the cookie banner, the site stores a single cookie recording your answer, so that the banner does not ask again. It contains your choice and nothing else. It is not shared with anyone, because there is nobody to share it with.

Clearing your browser cookies for this site removes it, and the banner will ask again next time.

Server logs

Serving a page necessarily involves a request reaching a server, and web servers keep access logs. These are ordinary technical logs used to keep the site running and to see whether it is broken. They are not used to build a profile of you and are not passed to any third party.

Following a link

This site links out constantly, because citing the source document is the whole point. Once you follow a link to a council website, a legislation site or a document repository, you are on somebody else's site under their privacy policy and their cookies, not ours.
